PTS photoshoot planning

I plan on photographing on my winter trip to Colorado and California. I intend on photographing in the national park I will be visiting. These parks include: Estes park, Rocky mountain national park, and Yosemite National park. I love natures creations and landscapes especially mountainous ones, and these park will be perfect for what I have in mind. I especially love trees, and sequoias (redwoods) are one of the tallest trees in the world. I hope to capture the perfect shot of these beauties to make one of the photos my front cover. I will also visit Long's peak which has high elevation where I will be able to take a panorama of the Rocky Mountains if weather permits. In Yosemite national park there is a large granite rock "el capitan" which I would like to include as one of my spread features. I hope to capture a shot of this work of art. With the photos I take I intend on capturing the beauty and antiquity of the landscapes. I want to be able to portray the beaut...

5280 magazine analysis (target audience research)

The magazine 5280 is a Denver,  colorado  based magazine. The title’s originated from the “city’s mile-high elevation.” The magazine was created in 1993 to serve as the city’s magazine. They determined their content from surveying residents of Denver about what they would like to see in a magazine based on their city. This was the stem of what the magazine was all about. The surveys showed residents were interested in content from: “the arts to the environment, and from fitness to historical articles on Denver and the West.” From then to now, they expanded their magazine further and created a website for it. Now, the magazine target is worldwide, the website shows views from the united states to Columbia to Germany to Canada to the UK. The magazine still provides content that was once featured decades ago. Dining  experiences , outdoor activities,  special  events, etc. are some of the things still seen in every  edition  published from the magazine. M...

5280 magzine analysis (target audience)

The identity of the magazine is a travel magazine featuring the beauty of  colorado’s  outdoors and the environment in  colorado . T his is seen by the photos featured on the front of the  magazine. T he  magazine also includes significant events  upcoming in  colorado  or that have already occurred.  Content found in the magazine includes: ways to minimize carbon footprints, a newly opened building that serves as a meeting for non-profit organizations, and a trail that has finally been reopened after years of being off limits. The table of contents includes information on events hosted in  colorado  and good restaurants in the state. Basically, the magazine is all based on  Colordo ’s  environment and  what it has to offer to its people or people interested in traveling to an outdoorsy  destination . Given the content, I would say the audience includes adventurous travelers ,  residents  of the state o...

5280 magazine analysis (spread analysis)

The spread for the magazine of these 3 editions are very similar. The spreads all include an article on the left side of the 2-page spread and one the right an advertisement on the whole page.  The article on the left-hand side includes the top half of the page with one-three pictures relating to the article below. For example, the edition named “Mountain Escapes” includes a photo of “Pikes Peak” to relate to the reopening of the section that was once off limits. The photo allows readers a visual of the landscape as they read the article below and intrigues readers towards wanting to read the text. The title of the article being “fresh tracks” serves to cause interest in readers. The title is general however with the scenic photo and intriguing title of something “new” is such a beautiful and isolated setting it creates a sense of exclusive content. The magazine edition named “Small Town getaways” has photos of a building, two individuals, and a group of several people. The article...
