PTS spread and table of contents brainstorm layout

There are several spreads I have come across in my brainstorming for my travel magazine. Below I have included two-page sheet spreads from travel magazines that I will use as a means of guidance. In general, I want my magazine's to focus to be on the beauty of the photos. Therefore,  intend on having a layout where the images are the majority of content. The layout of the spreads above,  feature photos on the upper half and text on the bottom half. The use of this layout allows for the inclusion of multiple photos. I want to present the beauty of nature and create a sense of appreciation among readers as they survey my magazine. Therefore, by the ability to have multiple photos on the spread, it allows for readers to see a sense of the atmosphere of the nature spots I include. PTS magazine front cover brainstorm

This magazine will be a travel magazine, for the purpose of showcasing natures beauty. For my magazine I decided that a simple front cover is most appropriate for the image I want to portray in my magazine: the beauty of travel, specifically the scenery displayed. I drew inspiration from several magazine covers:

PTS photo selection

The photos I will include in my magazine are from a trip I endeavored during my winter holidays. My family and I traveled to California and Colorado, where I was granted the opportunity to photograph the beauty of both of these states. In class, we already had selected our genre of magazine. I choose travel because of my experiences and because I knew that I was going to travel during the winter break. I photographed in Yosemite National park (California) , Sequoia National park(Colorado), and the Rocky Mountain National park. This took place over the course of a week.
